Dress Shirts Vs Button-down Shirts

Dress shirts are more sophisticated and classic. It has long sleeves and stiff colors. Looks more professional and is made up of premium quality yarns of cotton, silk, linen, etc. Preferably, tucked into pants or trousers.    

Instead, button-down shirts are casual and styling shirts that come with plaid, stripes, etc patterns. It suits informal or semi-formal occasions. Though made of cotton or silk fabric, the material as a whole is softer than the dress shirts. These shirts are preferably untucked and hence don’t have a long length.
