Definitely. You must have at least three blazers for your business casual wardrobe – light wool in classic navy color, a beige cotton or linen-blend and a grey tweed blazer.

What if your blazer’s arm is too short?
If the blazer’s arm is too short, go for a similar colored roll neck or shirt to wear underneath, giving the impression of correct sleeve length. At a later date, find a good tailor who can help you with the proper arm length.

Okay, when did you give your everything to craft the perfect Monday suit? Take a plaid number out of your closet. When it comes to plaid, either go bold or go home. I recommend you pair your plaid suit with a navy micro plaid, and accessorize with a brown Houndstooth tie and a navy suede tassel loafers. I simply love pattern on pattern on pattern. Fall is a superb time to experiment with different textures, hues and details to help the groom differentiate from the crowd. Go for a more woodsy and warm theme for the groom’s boutonniere, maintaining floral to a minimum and adding in fall details including glasses, branches, leaves and acorns.

Let’s clear another common myth that ‘comfort wear’ means anything can be teamed with everything. Formal wear falls out of sorts when paired with trackers, flashy sneakers, joggers or graphic T-shirts. Strike the required balance by pairing a solid T-shirt with printed pants or pair your crazy sneakers with your T-shirt’s print. This said let me remind you that winter is fast approaching before you keep up with formal wear again.

We’ve been hearing the lingo ‘smart casual’ for quite a while. Unfortunately, not many know what it is or how it is best defined? Let me put it straight, smart casual means neat chinos or a pair of dark-colored jeans paired with a shirt, layered with a blazer or V-Neck Sweater, and accessorized with a pair of leather shoes. Your outfit should give you a good fitting, but is a wee less formal than a business professional or business casual style.

The fear of rejection is the biggest obstacle we face to choosing ourselves. Here comes the Mondays that can compound this fear…starting with what you wear to workplace (it matters even if you’re working from home). Here’s a basic office suit for the fall leading up to the winter season. A wool patterned suit paired with a basic shirt and accessorized with a tie will do the talking. If you’re bold enough, go for a three-piece option built with a double breasted vest. Accessories can be deep greens, burgundy and navy colors. A pocket square with these hues can work exceedingly well with both navy as well as patterned suits.

One of my clients shot a question at me the other day: “What is the best outfit to wear in a ballroom for a fall wedding?” You know well that autumn is the last season after which planning an outdoor wedding can be challenging i.e., just before mid-to-late springtime hits. Go for a more formal look. If wearing a tuxedo is too formal for you, a black three-piece suit will work exceedingly well.
