Aaron Tveit at the Tony Awards 2025

#ToplinerThursdays

The actor and singer chose a dapper, collarless suit style for the red carpets of the Tony Awards this year! Well, an excellent and unique choice of style that not every man wants to try. Kudos! The classic black suit featured a jacket with mandarin, and the wide-leg trousers are maintained in the same black and are tapered. The inner layer wasn’t apparent at all. Notably, the lapel pin exactly resembled a dress pin with a small drop-like hanging.

It’s time for double breasts!

Forget the light hues for summer; now, it’s time for alluring dark hues and double-breasted fronts. The model wears a double-breasted 2×1 buttoned tuxedo in maroon and blue plaids. The trousers are matching in solid blue with a zip closure. The tuxedo features shawl lapels, besom pockets, and minimally padded shoulders. The dress shirt and the necktie are in solid light lavender to contrast the plaid blazers. Indeed, an elegant formal suit for fall!

How about warm tones?

#TeachingsTuesdays

Of course, warm tones such as tan brown, peach, mustard yellow, and teal green are perfect and go-to colors this new season. They are easy to style as suit sets and separates. When tailored right, you can get some of the best signature looks from these suit colors. However, ensure your layering, balance, and proportions are taken care of. Wardrobe Essentials: Must-Have Men’s Suits for Seasonal Shifts

Certainly, there are two ways to look at men’s suits for seasonal styles. One way is to own at least one or two pairs of appropriate seasonal styles. The other way is to own a style that suits every other season. In this short blog post, let’s check out both of these ways.

Seasonal must-have suit styles for men

  1. Summer

As summer temperatures are higher, men need cool suits that are soft, breathable, lightweight, and soothing to the eyes. So, prefer cotton, linen, or bamboo-made suits that can keep you cool and comfortable all day. Likewise, the color of suits too has to be carefully chosen so that they don’t absorb heat and instead keep you relaxed and chilled. Some of the best summer hues include sky blue, white, pastel green, pink, and lavender.

When it comes to layers, try reducing the number. One outer and inner layer is more than adequate to keep up the style and coziness.

  1. Fall

The palette for fabrics and colors gradually moves from summer to fall, and the transition from lightweight fabrics to heavier ones, and light shades to darker tones begins. Also, one or more layers can be added. This results in a rich style for men with sophistication and warmth required for fall/autumn.

Choosing 100% wool or wool-blend fabrics for innermost layers is the right way to style. Moreover, try earthy tones like forest green, burgundy, dark brown, and sun orange.

  1. Winter

You have no choice other than heavy learning for snowy winters. Covering everything from the top to the bottom with hoodies, jackets, shawls, cardigans, and boots is mandatory for winter. From the fabrics to the colors, everything ought to be warm and deep. Most importantly, your apparel needs to be body-hugging without fail to keep your body warm and insulated from the shivering weather.

Prefer cashmere, wool, silk, tweed, and flannel-like fabrics that are heavy and highly insulating. Choose gray and pine green hues that can magnificently contrast the snow white.

  1. Spring

Again, this season, you need to get back to the refreshing hues and lighter fabrics. Also, it’s time to rip off the layers one by one and enjoy the mixed spring weather with sunny days and cool nights.

Enough of boring checks and solids. Why not play around with the patterns in spring? Of course, you can experiment with new patterns, textures, and styles in suits. Try beige, warm pastels, and yellow. Use this season to create your signature suit style that speaks for itself and your fashion sense.

One timeless suit that’s perfect for year-round

Of course, a black suit is a classic choice in both the past and present. However, lately, the navy suit is succeeding black and becoming timeless, catering to all seasons of the year. When paired with the right set of trousers, dress shirts, and accessories, these navy suits can become your go-to suit style for any occasion throughout the year.
Protip: If you can learn to mix and match the suits and separates, you can end up creating a wardrobe with fewer apparel but an endless number of styles and attire.

Together is my favorite place to be.

Perhaps, this is the third time we’re decoding his suit style this year! The first at the Oscar Awards, the second at the Golden Globe Awards, and now at the SAG Awards. This time, he chose a custom style in black and lime green. The black leather jacket and matching trousers were chic and extraordinarily contrasted with the fluorescent lime green buttoned-up shirt. The diamond-embedded bolo tie was indeed a timeless choice for this western statement suit style.

Wearing a pair of sunglasses, smart formal shoes, and a smart wrist watch completes this classic attire.

How to smoothly transition this summer and fall?

#TeachingsTuesdays

Layering is the only way through which men can smoothly transition from summer to fall. Probably, you can choose to continue wearing cotton or summer-friendly tees for the inner or base layer and choose to add leather or wool-based jackets and blazers for the outer layer. This allows you to effortlessly and quickly add or remove the outer layer and still maintain the style and comfort. If your body needs more layers, try adding flannel shirts as a mid-layer between the inner and outer layers.

The perfect summer-fall transition suit you’re looking for!

Try this suit for a special occasion this September with the right accessories—a contrasting pair of shoes and a smart watch.

How to Layer Men’s Suits for the Early Fall Season?

Men’s suits for fall 2025 can look fresh, alluring, and stylish if you get to know just a few basics of fall layering. Here is an expert-curated brief about the basic must-have fall layering essentials for men and simple tips to layer suits this golden season.

Fall layering basics for men

  1. Lightweight jackets

Ensure you own at least two to four lightweight, breathable, and comfy jackets to layer smart. This allows you to feel lighter than a feather, still giving a stylish look.

  1. Solid tees

This is another lightweight layer that’s perfect for inside during early autumn. This gives the best transition from summer to autumn and also allows for more emphasis on the outer layers.

  1. Knitted shirts

Indeed, a perfect choice of layering for professionals! Be it solid, printed, or checkered, knitted shirts give a smart, reserved layering upon which jackets or suits can be added.

  1. Thin cardigans

Though this layer is ideal for mid or late fall, most men think of this only during winter. But if you start layering your suit with these cardigans or thin sweaters in the fall, no doubt your style gets elevated.

Tips to layer men’s suits this fall 2025

  1. From light outside to dark inside.

Certainly, this schema might look contradictory to regular layering, wherein men prefer darker outer layers and lighter inner layers. However, this flip is simply to add more elegance and style to your suit layering this new season. Try this once and let us know how it worked!

  1. Pick lightweight layers over heavy fabrics.

Of course, it is recommended for men to choose lightweight fabrics as fall is the transition between summer and winter. Layering multiple lightweight fabrics ensures adequate warmth and gives a smart, sophisticated look.

  1. Choose the right seasonal colors.

Men with 40–80% of their wardrobe filled with tonal and core colors need not worry about seasonal tones. Just go and shop for two or three fall-based, earthy-toned jackets, sweaters, tees, or shirts. Otherwise, it’s time to shuffle between core, tonal, or seasonal colors in your wardrobe.

  1. At least one unique layer.

Ensure you add a statement piece to your suit. It could be a unique texture, pattern, or color that gives a new perspective to your suit styling this fall. A small change or addition every year makes it easy to layer every other year.

  1. No more than three visible layers.

Though fall suit layers are lightweight, adding more than three of them might end up in suffocation, heavy weight, and discomfort. Thus, ensure your layers, including outer suits, are two or three and not more than that.

Well, the tips and tricks that we’ve seen so far might look more suitable for smart formal or casual men’s attire. How about layering for formal suits? Here we go!

How to layer 100% formal suits?  Layering a formal suit isn’t that easy and needs more attention to colors, the fabric, blazers, and shirts we choose. Perhaps the fabric textures, tones, and styles of one layer have to blend into another layer—just to give a formal, professional look.
